Osoyoos, oddly enough, is Canada’s only desert! The warmest annual temperature, lowest annual precipitation, and the warmest fresh lake water in Canada can be found here.

With this town being the southernmost in the Okanagan, we see absolutely beautiful rugged hills, the usual span of rolling vineyards and orchards, and of course, a gorgeous lake to dive into.

Why Osoyoos?

Osoyoos Lake

Just like much of the Okanagan Valley, Osoyoos boasts some of the best summer fun with a fantastic lake that spans across the border, entering the US. Paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, wakeboarding, tubing – if you can do it on water, you’ll have a great time.

Some of the best golf courses in the Okanagan can be found near Osoyoos. Enjoy courses such as Sonora Dunes, the popular Nk’Mip, or the classic Osoyoos Golf Club. These trio of courses should keep you entertained well into the spring and summer seasons!

You just can’t get away from the energetic wine scene in the Okanagan, and why would you?? The wine region surrounding Osoyoos is one of the best in the Okanagan, offering a micro-climate that helps broaden the style and quality of grape growing in Western Canada. Culmina Family Estate Winery, Hester Creek, Inniskillin Estate, Nk’Mip Cellars, and Moon Curser Wines are a few notable wineries you have to try.

Baldy Mountain

To the north of Osoyoos, we have fan favourites like Big White Mountain (Kelowna) and Apex Mountain (OK Falls, Penticton), but there is a little-known mountain near this town that locals flock to each year: Baldy Mountain. Skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more can be found on this great outback mountain resort.

Horseback Riding

Looking for something a little different? One of the least talked about tourist attractions in the area is one of my favourites! Take a trip to Indian Grove Riding Stables, or the Sun Hills Riding Centre to get a view of the Okanagan you can’t get anywhere else.
